September 2007 - A Fruitful Partnership
for Browns and SACAB

Browns Restaurant & Wine Cellar and SACAB,
South Africa’s high profile taxi service have announced
their recent partnership. The synergy between these two prestigious
companies will see the sharing of skills and resources to provide
enhanced services to their target markets.
Both service providers are known for ‘going
the extra mile’ for their customers. Both are seen as
the provider of choice to many top corporates in South Africa,
and the unique services delivered by these two companies, which
has seen them excel in their respective industries, is sure
to make for a highly fruitful relationship between SACAB and
Browns.
SACAB’s fleet offers a multitude of transport
services to individuals and corporates, none as quirky and original
as the London Taxi which SACAB have secured the rights to distribute.
These authentic London cabs service major airports, hotels,
business hubs and shopping centres nationally.
These purpose made, high quality vehicles offer
a number of benefits which distinguish London taxis from ordinary
cabs. They are instantly recognisable and easy to hail, they
have been designed to maximise practicality and comfort for
both passenger and taxi driver and they are on call 24 hours
a day, 365 days a year. It is no wonder these cabs have proved
a hit with top corporates and the up-market echelons of society
– not so ironically, just the caliber of patron who typically
frequents Browns Restaurant.
Browns of Rivonia is no stranger to service
excellence either. For 17 years they have brought the splendor
of the Cape winelands to the heart of Johannesburg. Browns’
reputation for exquisite wines and delicious dishes has secured
the former farmhouse a place amongst the city’s best loved
landmarks. Browns is a venue for all seasons, with the sunny
garden inviting languorous lounging in summer and the blazing
fire adding a touch of warmth in the chilly winter months.
Up to 50 people can dine in the magnificent
wine cellar surrounded by 33 000 bottles of the finest South
African and International wines available and for the eighth
year running they have earned the title of ‘Best Business
Lunch Venue’ by Leisure Options magazine.
Both SACAB and Browns identified an opportunity
for growth and excellence in service delivery and therefore
decided to collaborate on a unique and exciting social responsibility
campaign. The restaurant will promote safety on our roads by
encouraging patrons to make use of the SACABs after an evening
of fine wining and dining should they not wish to drive themselves
home. To show their commitment Browns has already branded two
of the cabs which are regularly on standby outside of the restaurant.
In return, SACAB stands to benefit from the increased traffic
provided by Browns’ patrons as well as the general exposure
to the SACAB brand.
Not only do the cabs serve as an alternate mode
of transport, but they are also aimed at promoting the Browns
brand. Comments Browns Marketing Manager, Lara Edwards, “We
chose to go with the cabs because we were looking for an eye-catching,
alternative advertising medium to our regular communications
channels and in addition, the cabs offer the added benefit of
being an alternative transport option for our guests, and that’s
a value offering that differentiates us from most other dining
venues.”
And the striking cabs are getting everyone talking.
John Rice, Managing Director of Graffiti, the company contracted
to brand the cabs adds, “Browns have found a very unique
way of utilising their vehicles that is obviously of benefit
to any business in the hospitality industry. They are going
the extra mile for their diners whilst still doing a great branding
awareness job at the same time.”
