and; Auctioneer Schalk Burger Senior (former Springbok rugby
player and owner of Welbedacht)
The 8th of May is International Red Cross Day and for the second
year running, Browns of Rivonia will be hosting a Red Cross
charity auction. Join us for a night of philanthropic entertainment
as former Springbok rugby player, Schalk Burger Senior auctions
off an array of exclusive wine lots donated by participating
wine farms including Jordan, Klein Constantia, Meerlust, Thelema,
Warwick and Schalk’s own label – Welbedacht. Browns
will be serving up a delectable three course meal prepared by
Irish head chef, Ken Garvey and the wine farms will provide
a buffet of drinking wines. All proceeds will go directly towards
the Red Cross foundation, 50% of which will go towards the upliftment
of the Gauteng region while the other 50% will assist the underprivileged
communities of the wine producing landmark, Stellenbosch. Last
year Browns managed to raise over R90 000 and it is hoped that
this year’s auction will be even more successful. Corporates
are encouraged to do their bit for charity by booking a table
at the wine auction of the year. Tickets are R500 a head but
don’t forget your ‘chequebook’ as a limited
number of rare and exquisite wine lots will be auctioned. Phone
