Jazz Legend Dan Hill

Dan Hill, South Africa's musical has died at the age of 85.

Dan was a loving man and well respected by everyone who knew him.   Dan started playing at Browns of Rivonia in 1992 wearing his trademark red shoes, playing the clarinet and saxophone.

Dan Hill was one of the most respected jazz musicians and band leaders in South Africa, was an honor to Browns and their guests when he and his band played classic jazz tunes on Thursday and Saturday evenings.

Browns held a small farewell last night in remembrance of Dan Hill, 'who will be sorely missed by the entire team at Browns', says Marketing Assistant Meagan Alexander.   He was a wonderful musician, a gentle, kind and generous man, a man who was loved by all who knew him.
