February 2008 - Browns Goes Green

Browns of Rivonia will appear on Hybrid Living,
an eco-awareness talk show, on Friday 7 March on SABC 2 at 14:45.
The programme, sponsored by Toyota Prius, a newly launched hybrid
energy saving vehicle, regularly puts the spotlight on companies
who avidly do their bit for the environment. Browns will be
showcased on the talk show for their involvement in a number
of eco-friendly activities. Browns recently purchased four Toyota
Priuses in an effort to contribute towards a cleaner environment.
The restaurant is also an active member of the Endangered Wildlife
Trust and works closely with the organisation to ensure that
only the correct types of fish are stocked in terms of the South
African Sustainable Seafood Initiative, and also contributes
towards raising funds for the charity.
In addition, Browns stocks a number of organic wines, one of
only a few restaurants in South Africa to do so. “We hope
to lead the way towards creating a more socially and environmentally
aware industry. We feel it is our corporate responsibility to
set a trend and in so doing, to contribute towards the positive
upliftment of South Africa,” says Lara Edwards, Marketing
Manager at Browns.
