Press Release: Diners Club International Wine List Awards

The recently revamped Browns Restaurant in Rivonia has long been known for its extensive collection of wine housing up to 30 000 bottles in four climate controlled cellars. At the recent Diners Club Winelist of the Year Awards, Browns received the prestigious Diamond Award.

The Johannesburg Landmark has long been recognized for having a superb wine list, wine cellar and trained wine stewards.

"We are very excited to have been awarded this accolade six years in a row, as this highlights our commitment to excellence in everything we do," says Francois Meyer, General Manager of Browns.

Charlie Hardie, Browns beloved cellar master, passed away on Tuesday the 11th May. Charlie was well known in the wine community, both locally and internationally, having made wine on no less than four continents. His bubbly personality, enthusiasm and his willingness to share his understanding with anyone who showed interest, served as a testament to his lifelong passion for wine. His uplifting presence will be missed by all. Charlie leaves behind his wife and two children.
